Hey, I've been in it three times. When I was 5 I was Gretl, when I was 12 I was Brigitta and when I was 13 I was Louisa in the same production.
One thing that make SOM different from other "kid-shows" is that the kids aren't "stage kids," so just act natural and don't belt and try to sound louder than the other kids (unless you're directed to belt.) But overall just learn all your track and since there are so many kids you should learn to cover if somebody makes a mistake.

Good luck with the show! Yeah it was cool getting to be in it so much but I had a 7 year break between the first two times. And between the 2nd and 3rd I had the summer off.

I was Kurt when I was 11/12. Just have fun and DON"T act cocky. I know someone who got the part of Briggita, acted cocky, and got fired.

I was Marta many many years ago in a Reagle Players show and Maria in my school show. Try to act if you are hearing everything for the first time (but don't forget your lines of course!) you've probably heard this before but I hope it helps!. Also follow everyone else's advice because that's basically all you need, other than the singing and acting stuff but you know what I mean.

i was a posulant(a type of nun) and i was only 11 but then turned 12 during the shows cuz one of them was on my birthday!!!! i was also Fraulien Schweiger who's the girl in the concert who bows too much and gets thrown offstage. now whenever i see someone from that cast they keep bowing at me constantly! anyway, the best advice i can give u is to make sure to practice ur part whenever u can so that you get perfectly in the character when it's time to go onstage! also whenever u have aperformance that day try not to talk. it's really hard but it will help ur vocal chords sound better if u conserve ur voice. also drink plenty of water and stay way from soda. water is better for ur voice too but not cold water just regular water. tea and cough drops help too. also remember just to be urself and have fun! if u mess up don't worry these things happen and remember the audience doesn't know the script so they may think it's part of the show!!!! hope this helps!!!!!!!!
